The Traefik Labs Hackaethon is back, and the challenges and prizes are bigger and better than ever! This year, in celebration of the community that created the world’s most powerful open source cloud native tool and drove over 3 BILLION downloads, we are focusing on making Traefik Proxy 3.0 the most community-inclusive major release ever.
Hackaethon 2022 will allow breaking changes, give bounties for top community requests, and have a grand prize of $1000! Because some of the top requests are quite big, design submissions can also win the top prizes this year. Even better, top competitors will be invited to join the maintainer’s team.
So what can a winning contribution look like?
The Discord channel will open on September 19th for a week before the hackathon to allow competitors to meet up, exchange ideas, and build teams. You will also have the chance to discuss ideas with Traefik Labs engineers to identify pitfalls, see how we have approached solutions, and get feedback on your projects as you proceed. Many of our employees come directly from the community (just ask Tom, who joined the Traefik Labs team after winning the 2020 Hackaethon); that is why they know the technology better than anyone else and are excited to help you on your journey.
The Hackathon begins on September 27th and ends on September 29th.
